The Denver Egotist is currently running a series entitled “On My First Day of Advertising.” The publication wanted to finish the year on a local high note. They asked some of the most respected creative visionaries in Colorado to create a piece. The creatives were asked to answer the question: “If as an adult, you could send a letter to your younger self on your very first day of advertising, what words of guidance, comfort, advice or other message would you put in it?”
As a Journalism and Advertising graduate, I’ve had the privilege of spending time with creatives who slave away in the Advertising world. It was commonly referred to in college as a cut-throat industry.
Today, Jim Elkin, Director/Creative Director at Roshambo Films was #5 in line to be published. It doesn’t matter—your profession, if you are a human being, his story needs no introduction, it needs your utmost attention.
