The quote on the card my mother gave me the night before we left our home country again. She proceeded on with her own words: There are two lasting bequests one can give their child. One is roots and the other is wings. I know you have a very good foundation and roots. Let those wings take you to great places but don’t forget your roots.
I’m not sure if my mom understands how wonderful she is. And for that, mom, I just wanted to say, I wish you were here to see this and I love you.
